Why PHSE is essential to your professional growth
In recent years Pilates training has become an integral part of physical rehabilitation programs. Doctors and physiotherapists emphasize that the decisive factors in referring patients to a Pilates class or private session are the instructor’s qualifications, ability to recognize health concerns and adapt training to the patient’s physical limitations.
Knowledge gained in the Pilates Health Science Essentials (PHSE) will enable you to:
- Understand clients’ health conditions
- Consider physical constraints and contraindications
- Develop individualized training routines
- Effectively communicate with other healthcare professionals
Furthermore, the anatomy, physiology and pathology courses included in the PHSE will serve as a solid foundation for any future studies related to Pilates or Yoga rehabilitation therapy and hands-on clinical practice.
PHSE outcome
Pilates Health Science Essentials takes students beyond the muscle anatomy traditionally taught in TT classes. In a structured approach, PHSE ties together core health sciences: anatomy, physiology, and pathology, revealing how the human body functions to sustain life and fight off disease.
Students engage in a dynamic discovery of all organ systems, demonstrating the interdependence of structure (anatomy) and function (physiology) with emphasis on the anatomy and biomechanics of the vertebral column. The pathology course examines causes, signs and symptoms of diseases prevalent in today’s society, as well as health conditions frequently encountered in a Pilates class setting.

Course Reviews
Also, I would like to acknowledge the effort you have put in the courses and content. I did find most of the videos very useful especially I’m more of a visual learner. I would also like to learn more about the osteopath courses in the future.
Thank you again and all the best in this trying time.
Best regards,
